DSLC’s Lawyer’s Workspace hosted a practice round of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competitionin Shenzhen on January 19-20, 2019. Teams from six universities in South China participated in this practice round.
The practice round was held in English, and the trial judges were lawyers, third-party funding professionals, and legal researchers who are active in Beijing, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen. Topics explored during the competition included the protection of endangered species, the preservation of the culture and religion of ethnic minorities, claims for environmental damages,and the preservation of traditional culture.
During the competition, each team received personal guidance from the judges and other legal professionals. Team members became more familiar with the rules of the competition, improved their debating skills, and improved the logical presentation of their ideas.
