DSLC established its Hong Kong subsidiary HK DSLC Consulting Co., Limited (香港鼎頌咨詢有限公司) immediately after Hong Kong’s Legislative Council passed a new law allowing third party funding in arbitration and mediation on July 15, 2017. DSLC is the first third-party funding provider in the Hong Kong market, and it has begun to actively expand its global network.
HK DSLC Consulting will take advantage of Hong Kong’s status as an international finance and arbitration center. DSLC’s head office in Shenzhen and HK DSLC Consulting will also jointly explore global litigation funding opportunities with prospective international partners.
DSLC has already established cooperative relationships with major international providers of legal capital like Burford Capital, Woodsford Litigation Funding, and Omni Bridgeway. With the establishment of HK DSLC Consulting, DSLC adds the ability to provide third-party funding, enforcement of court decisions and arbitral awards, debt recovery, and outbound lawyer recommendations in one of Asia’s most global cities.
DSLC also supports China’s “One Belt One Road” policy that is transforming China’s relations with many countries along the old Silk Road. DSLC is a pioneer in the litigation funding market, and it will be a major provider of legal services and capital that supports Chinese companies that make investments or have operations along this new major trading route.
